Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

SkinMarketCap uses very few cookies. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

The cookies we use

  • smc_game remembers your last selected game so the site opens on the right one. It stores only a game name, lasts about a year, and holds no personal data.
  • smc_board_view remembers whether you last viewed the inventory leaderboards as a list or a grid. It stores only that choice, lasts about a year, and holds no personal data.
  • smc_market_stacked remembers whether you last viewed the market table on the home page stacked (one row per skin) or unstacked. It stores only that choice, lasts about a year, and holds no personal data.
  • NEXT_LOCALE remembers the language you chose so the site opens in it next time. It stores only a language code and expires when you close your browser.
  • Sign-in cookies are created only once you sign in with Steam. They keep you signed in, hold a short-lived copy of your session so pages don’t have to look it up, and cover the round trip to Steam and back. They are strictly necessary, and they go away when you sign out.

Without cookies

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t identify you. Sentry, which we use to catch errors, keeps a session id in your browser’s session storage while the tab is open so it can link an error to what led to it. It is not a cookie and is cleared when you close the tab.

Managing cookies

You can view, delete, or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the preference cookies just means the site forgets your last game, layout and language and opens on the defaults. Blocking the sign-in cookies means you cannot stay signed in, and everything that needs an account stops working.
