CS2 Market Overview

The whole CS2 skin market at a glance: what it is worth, which way it is moving and how traders feel, across every marketplace we track.

How the numbers are calculated

SMC Index
The SMC Index adds up the lowest current price of every CS2 item we track, with each wear, StatTrak™ and Souvenir version counted as its own item. Only items listed on at least two marketplaces count, so a single unusual listing can’t inflate the total. Daily moves compare only the items priced on both days by the same number of marketplaces, so a new case or a marketplace going offline never shows up as the market moving.
Fear & Greed
Fear & Greed blends five readings: momentum (the index against its 30-day average), volatility (how much it swings), gainers vs losers over the past week, supply pressure (how fast listings grow) and risk appetite (how knives and gloves do against the whole market). Each reading is ranked against its own past year, and the weighted average gives a score from 0 (Extreme Fear) to 100 (Extreme Greed).
Market breadth
Market breadth counts the items whose price rose and fell over the last 24 hours or 7 days. The share rising shows whether a move is broad or carried by a few expensive items.
Net listings
Net listings is the change in the number of listings from one day to the next, counted only on marketplaces that report listings on both days. More listings means more supply coming to the market.
Listed value
Listed value is every listing on a cash marketplace multiplied by that marketplace’s lowest price for the item. Steam is not included, because Steam balance can’t be withdrawn, and neither are marketplaces that don’t publish listing counts.
Category share
Category share splits the listed value between knives, gloves, rifles, pistols, cases and everything else.
Volatility
Volatility is the standard deviation of the SMC Index’s daily moves over the last 30 days, annualised. It is shown for the whole index and for knives.
